TERMITE CONTROL
Subterranean Termites
Impasse Termite BlockersSubterranean termites are the most destructive insect pests of wood in the United States. They cause billions of dollars in damage each year and have a negative impact on a family's most valuable possession-the home. Subterranean termites have their colonies in the ground, sometimes 20 feet or more below the surface. As termites forage, they find your home and begin to feast upon wood and paper products like wall studs, sheetrock backing, cabinets, and wood siding. Subterranean termites cause damage by eating wood and through wood rot and mold problems caused by the extremely high moisture conditions they bring into your home. Treatment for subterranean termites can be through several methods: Soil Treatments, Wood Treatments, and/or Impasse Termite Blockers.

Soil Treatments
Pre-Construction and Post-Construction Soil TreatmentsSoil treatments can be used to prevent termites as well as eradicate termites from existing structures. A soil treatment introduces termite chemicals into and onto the soil to create a protective envelope around a foundation. These soil chemicals can be "repellent" or "non-repellent". Repellent chemicals are designed, not to kill…but to repel termites. This may allow termites to avoid treated areas, then locate and use gaps in the treated zone. Currently, available repellent termiticides include Suspend®, Dragnet®, Demon®, Talstar®, and others. Repellent termiticides are normally priced less than non-repellent chemicals. Non-repellent termiticides do not repel, but kill the termites directly, as they tunnel through the treated area. Lethal insecticides include Premise®, Termidor®, and Phantom®. Both repellent and non-repellent termiticides provide approximately 5 years of protection and must be re-applied in order to maintain effectiveness.

We offer Pre-Construction and Post-Construction Soil Treatments. New construction and existing homes will benefit from soil treatments. By treating the soil around the foundation, termites are blocked from entering the home. EnviroCon is an Authorized Provider for many different soil chemicals including Termidor®, Premise®, DemonMax®, and others. Soil treatments can also help protect against other home invading pests.

Bora-Care is accepted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a primary tool against termites in new home construction. It's specifically listed by the International Building Codes as a suitable alternative to soil treatments. Nisus also offers a 12-year residential pretreatment warranty to the professional pest control industry.

Baiting Systems for schools and apartmentsBait Systems
Though termite baits have been approved in Texas, this approach to structural protection from termites is not recommended and therefore EnviroCon no longer offers termite baiting.
