Other Houston Companies Don't Add Up
Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 8:31PM I was at a bed bug call today and after I presented some options and costs to the homeowner, she brought out the "alphabet company" bid. This proposal was a real disappointment to me. The company was proposing to provide a whole-house heat treatment for $2,200....then according to the homeowner, after 21 days they would bring their dog out. If the dog did not alert....the warranty period was over. OMG-how can the owners of that company sleep at night? Dogs can have bad days too and even Duke isn't 100%....but if the dog is having a bad day and misses some bed bugs, you might as well take a phillips head to the homeowner...because they're screwed. A 21-DAY WARRANTY? REALLY? Let's just say the dog was right, and no bed bugs were present. What about eggs? Ohio State University says eggs hatch within 17 days at normal temperatures....but what if it's colder? Just 4 more days and the homeowner is out-of-luck.
EnviroCon provides the most comprehensive treatment protocol available.
Day 0 - treatment
Day 14 - recheck/inspect/treat if necessary
Day 70 - if no activity - elimination is declared
THEN 90 MORE DAYS OF WARRANTY!!!!!
Oh - our estimate? $1,500, a full $700 less than the "alphabet company" and with 5 months of protection.
